Spa never lose sight of victory against Visually Impaired Bowls England
The visitors actually held a two-shot lead after five ends of the friendly mixed triples encounter, but any hint of complacency was quickly banished as Spa ran out 77-47 victors at the close of the 15th end.
Trevor Briggs (16-3) and Malcolm Wickens (27-6) both recorded resounding wins for the home side, with Mike Wallace (13-10) also successful.

Hide AdHowever, Spa did not have it all their own way, with Ron Walton losing 14-10 to R Williams and Dick Allibon going down 14-11 at the hands of T Matthews.
The following day, Spa claimed an 82-72 success over Stratford, who could only muster four rinks.
Bill Edkins (23-13), Bill Griffin (20-14) and Allibon (21-18) were Spa’s successful skips.
Patt Gagg’s emphatic 27-11 win over Elizabeth G Jones proved decisive as Lillington’s ladies overcame Leamington in a three-rink triples match.

Hide AdPam Ponting edged out Donna Kerr 18-16, while Wyn Jackson prevented the whitewash with a draw against Chris Venn.
The previous day, Spa had claimed a 43-35 triples success over Wellesbourne in a match played over 15 ends.
Wellesbourne won two of the three rinks through M Colvin (13-10) and Mavis Shaw (14-13), but a 20-8 success for Sonia Stranks swung the game Spa’s way.
Waddesdon Manor was the venue as Warwickshire Ladies notched up a 127-89 win over hosts Buckinghamshire.

Hide AdThe highest winning rink was a 34-11 for Sigrid Thomas (Rugby Thornfield) alongside Audrey Stephens (Bournville), Jane Crawley (Lillington) and Pat Moore (Three Spires).
Pat Bax (Rugby Ladies) skipped Ann Webb (Welford), June Millward (Three Spires) and Ann Harwood Wolvey) to a 27-10 success.
The only other winning rink was skipped by Wolvey’s Trish Jarvis (23-13), with Jenny Corn (Lillington) suffering a four-shot defeat, one of three for the team.
