A big chance for Leamington’s Wes with award-winning producer

Leamington people may already be familiar with the acoustic guitar sounds of Wes Finch, whose band The Swaps have performed at the Pump Room, the LAMP, Warwick Arts Centre and various events in the area over the past year.

After striking up a relationship on social media with producer Gerry Diver - responsible for Sam Lee’s Mercury Award winning album A Ground of its Own and as Lisa Knapp’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated album Hidden Seam - Wes was offered the chance to work with him on his forthcoming album. He is now asking for the support of fans to raise enough funds to create it - offering them in return a pre-order of the album and other rewards.

Wes said: “This record is going to sound a little darker and more epic than my previous ones and have more of an English singer-songwriter feel.

“Gerry has a great ear and ability to create some amazing soundscapes for singer songwriters and I’m very excited to work with him.”
