Afrobeat-hip-hop pair are coming to Warwick Arts Centre
New York rapper Joe Driscoll and West African star Sekou Kouyate - who is known in France as the ‘Jimi Hendrix of the kora’ - will play at Warwick Arts Centre on March 11, a few months on from their intimate gig at the Clarendon pub in Leamington.
Their latest album Faya is voiced in Sousou and English by Sekou and Driscoll respectively - and is described by the pair as “a potent brew of afrobeat, other African styles, hip-hop, rock and reggae that defies any simple tags or description”.

Killer basslines, ornate, electronically enhanced kora and two distinctive vocallists come together in a creative melange that Joe says “touches on so many genres”.
The gig starts at 7.30pm. For tickets, which cost £16.50, call 024 7652 4524 or go online.
