Aliens and superheroes head to town

BATMAN, Darth Vader and Lara Croft are among the more unusual visitors to be found lurking in corners at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon this weekend.

They, along with other iconic heroes and villains, are heading to the venue for the opening of its Sci-Fi At The Movies exhibition, which starts tomorrow.

With weapons, props and costumes from some of the most famous science fiction films, including Star Wars, E.T. Harry Potter, Aliens, Batman, Spiderman and Superman, the display will also give visitors an insight into film history, character profiles and little known film trivia.

All the rare artefacts are on loan from the private collection of Skywalkers Promotions and would not normally be available for the public to view.

On Sunday people will also be able to meet actor and entertainer Rusty Goffe, who will be recognised by many for his roles in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Star Wars and Flash Gordon, among others.

And during the half term holiday next week there will be science fiction-related activities and craft sessions for families.

The exhibition is on until September 4. For further details, go online.
