All that jazz to mark International Festival

Now in its fourth year, the annual event is fast becoming a milestone in the worldwide jazz calendar.

Established by jazz piano supremo, Herbie Hancock in his role as UNESCO cultural ambassador versions of the festival will run on stages across the world on April 30 - including Leamington’s Pump Room from 7.30pm.

Long-standing supporters Interplay jazz group will welcome Claude Deppa to the Pump Room stage to mark the international event.

Since moving to the UK, the South African trumpet star has become a well known member of multi-cultural group, the Grand Union Orchestra and has worked in Warwickshire schools and colleges to spread the education ensemble programme.

He will join Interplay for the festival in hope of drawing in the crowds and raising the profile of the UNESCO event.

Interplay has been together for the past seven years and its members are all well known in their own right.

Also performing will be new trio, Three Way Split.
