Bunnymen bounce into Leamington

LIVERPUDLIAN post-punk new wave stars Echo & The Bunnymen will be bringing a new year boost to Leamington next month.

The critically acclaimed group, who burst onto the scene with their album Crocodiles in 1980, have announced a one off show at The Assembly on January 17.

It will be the bands only UK show on the 2012 leg of their current tour, as they will go on to play just a handful of dates across Europe.

The remaining members Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant will be performing two of their classic albums in their entirety - Crocodiles and Heaven Up.

Crocodiles is widely regarded as a psychedelic post-punk masterpiece and included well-known songs such as Rescue, Villiers Terrance and All That Jazz.

Heaven Up There was the follow up to Crocodiles and was released in 1981, and has been listed by Rolling Stone magazine in their top 500 albums ever made.
