DART (Developing Artists in Rural Touring) has been put together by Live & Local and Worcestershire County Council to give artists performance opportunities in villages in central England.

Applications are now open for stage 1 of the development programme, which is centred on ‘DART-Day’. Up to eight artists or groups will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a professional panel and receive feedback and take part in workshops on conducting tours around rural areas.

They will also be able to meet like-minded people and professionals and build up their contacts in the industry.

The event takes place at Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore on Wednesday November 20.

Performing artists from any artform - including theatre, music, dance and storytelling - and who are able to travel to Worcestershire are encouraged to apply.

DART is managed by Live & Local, a professional arts organisation based in Warwick which has brought many vibrant performances to rural spots such as Eathorpe, Lapworth, Birdingbury and Bubbenhall. Performances are usually in small-scale settings such as village halls, churches and schools.
