Classic rock at new music venue

V8 at the Exchange pub, Leamington, March 5.

THIS was my first visit to the Exchange for live music and I found it to be a welcome addition to the collection of live music venues in the town.

The pub has a good sized stage at one end of the room and with tables and chairs moved around, there is a decent amount of space available in front of the stage to view the performance as well as seating available further back.

The band for my first visit, one of my favourite local outfits V8, a rock covers band who never disappoint. This gig was no exception with the band blasting through a collection of rock classics made famous by the likes of AC/DC, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Rage Against the Machine. I was treated to my favourite V8 cover ‘Cold Sweat’ a track from the final Thin Lizzy album (band front man Dave even introduced the track as one for Andy), which has recently been reintroduced to the set.

The Exchange have live music most Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings of varying styles including rock, punk, indie and folk and V8 regularly perform in various venues around Leamington.

Verdict: Impressive venue and V8 rocking as always.
