Death, God and jealousy at Leamington theatre

Sam Harris directs the second piece, A Chip in the Sugar, which sees mild middle-aged Graham grows jealous when his mother gets back together with her old flame, Frank. He finds unearths a secret about Frank that he uses to destroy his mother’s hopes of happiness.

In A Cream Cracker Under the Settee, directed by Rachel Tompkins, 75-year-old Doris has suffered a fall while trying to clear up after her less-than-thorough home help. Alone and injured, she decides she’d rather die on her own in considerable pain than live in a care home ‘smelling of pee’.

But is soon becomes apparent that Doris is not the sweet old lady she first appears to be and that her constant nagging may have been responsible for her husband’s early death.

The performance will run at the theatre in Victoria Colonnade from Wednesday until Saturday July 28 at 7.45pm each evening (except Sunday).
