Free preview of Kenilworth theatre group’s festival entry

A one-act, all-male First World War drama is the Priory Theatre in Kenilworth’s entry into the Lighthorne Festival of One Act Plays.

And audiences can see a free preview of the play, Lions and Donkeys by Steve Harper, at the theatre in Rosemary Hill tonight (Saturday).

The action focuses on Tommy Atkins and Dave Rawlings from the 3rd Essex Battalion, who receive an unexpected visit from Lieutenant Hargreaves, who announces that Tommy is to be awarded the Military Medal for his courage in combat. But the pair seem particularly keen to see the back of him. The company describe it as “a funny, poignant play about friendship, humanity and survival”.
