Brothers Ashley and Stephen Maugham - who together with Chris Burden and Kris Farrall make up the Leamington band Girls That Scream - have opened Sound Anchor Studios at Arch 1 of the Court Street Arches off Clemens Street and celebrated with a launch party with an intimate acoustic gig, champagne and cupcakes.
Ashley, a former Campion School pupil and Warwickshire College student, said: “We wanted to create something more fresh, modern and young, with a friendly environment that’s open for everybody.

As well as recording and rehearsing music, musicians of any genre can make use of the space to sell products and merchandise, design logos, print CDs and DVDs, do admin work and even perform small-scale gigs.
Ashley said: “We have had quite a bit of interest but we would like to hear from younger people. They are the up-and-coming musicians.
“The location is perfect and the arch is great for acoustics. It’s such a cool spot.”
