Gigging for Guide Dogs in Leamington

BLIND and partially-sighted people will benefit from a gig at the Assembly featuring a range of music from three very different bands and a talented soloist.

Gigging for Guide Dogs will include sets from classic rockers Embryonix, punk band Half Man Machine and chilled out act The Shakes.

Embryonix, who specialise in covers from the 1960s up to present day, will play hits by the likes of Cream, The Commitments, Franz Ferdinand and the Kings of Leon.

The Shakes have a well formed set with the technical ability to back it up.

Adding a softer, more chilled tone to the evening, they will perform both a selection of covers and their own works.

Man Half Machine throw endless energy in on-stage.

It is very rare to see a member of the band standing still, as they plough through their own material and whip a crowd into a frenzy.

Also, as a short interval and to allow for some changes during The Embryonix’s set, vocalist Lucy Stanton will perform some ballads.

The event will take place at the award-winning Spencer Street venue on Sunday March 12.

Tickets cost £5 and all proceeds will go to Guide Dogs
