Japanese drummers to show expertise in Warwick Arts Centre event

The dynamic Yamato Drummers of Japan will return to the UK with their brand new show Bakoun which calling at the Warwick Arts Centre on Friday May 1.

Bakuon takes the ancient art of Japanese Taiko Drumming and brings it bang up-to-date in an exhilarating display of expertise and athleticism.

The Yamato Company was founded in 1993 in Japan’s Kansai region by artistic director Masa Ogawa and has since performed in front of more than five million people.

Masa said: “Taiko is a musical instrument deeply familiar to every Japanese person.

“Since the dawn of history, Taiko’s rich reverberations have filled people with inspiration and encouragement in a wide range of settings.

“Its unmistakable sound is still heard throughout Japan today.

“We, the members of Yamato, believe in the unique value of Taiko.
