Join in ukulele celebrations in Leamington tomorrow
More than 300 ukulele players will showcase their talents at a free festival at Leamington pub the Newbold Comyn Arms tomorrow (Saturday).
Amateur group the Spa Strummers, which formed last year, are staging the town’s first festival celebrating the instrument from noon until 11pm, with guest performers, workshops, a banjolele set by members of the George Formby Society, several ‘mask busks’ and instrument stalls.
The event at the pub, which is at the end of Newbold Terraced East next to the Newbold Comyn leisure centre, includes a hog roast, barbecue and indoor and outdoor bar, as well as stilt-walkers and the chance to find out more and donate to Zoe’s Place baby hospice charity.
