Kenilworth theatre hosts exciting adventure - for cast and audience

A FRANTIC weekend awaits an enthusiastic amateur dramatics group who are once again bringing an audience in Kenilworth a production they plan to create in no more than 48 hours.

The aptly-named Made In 48 Hours cast members will lay eyes afresh on the script for the group’s production of Peter Pan on Friday at 7pm. They will then have until curtain up on Sunday (July 29) to learn their lines and rehearse their lines to bring their audience a fun-filled show.

Following the last two years’ sell-out successes, Pride and Sensibility and The Man With the Golden Buns, the group are looking forward to returning to the Talisman Theatre.

Their take on this famous children’s classic sees the boy who never grew up fighting pirates, meeting mermaids and leading his gang of lost boys on exciting adventures.

In true Made in 48 Hours style, the children and animals will be played by grown ups for an added bit of humour.

Director and co-founder of the group, Sam Harris, said: “In 13 years, I have never been able to work out how the cast manage to learn their lines so quickly. It’s amazing what you can retain. But sometimes people forget stuff and we have to get out of it which always seems to give the audience a good laugh. It’s great fun.

“This year there is an added challenge as we have a professional fight choreographer joining the team to help us with a climatic fight scene - little hint to the cast there - so I can’t wait to see how that turns out.”

The show is on at the Talisman Theatre in Barrow Road, Kenilworth, on Sunday July 29 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8. Call 856548.
