So says James Knight, who runs the five-piece band, who have spent the summer showcasing their talents at festivals and bars around the country.

He said: “After months of perfecting the songs live, we spent a manic two days recording at John Rivers’ Woodbine St Studios in Leamington - and a few mixes, cover designs and a rubber stamp later, the EP, Success, was fully formed.

“The Swaps really don’t like the idea of sounding the same all the time, so Success splashes its way through folky rock-outs, disco blues and spooky turbulence, while the lyrics deal with failing love, saying sorry, anatomy, sexual inadequacy and the impossibility of standing in other people’s shoes.”

Proud of what he describes as “remarkable vocals, stunning harmonica, killer rhythms and extraordinary songs”, James said he feels that The Swaps have outdone themselves with their second release.

The band are putting out an open invitation to Success’ launch party, which takes place at the Leamington LAMP off Adelaide Road in Leamington next Friday (October 11) from 7.30pm.

James said: “There will be boozing, bluesing, fun, games and live music from the band and Shanade.”
