Leamington Music has busy programme for November

Leamington Music is putting on five concerts next month, starting with the Arcadia String Quartet at the Pump Room in Leamington on Friday (November 1).

The Arcadia Quartet, from Romania, won the 2012 London International String Quartet Competition and will follow the winners of the 2009 Competition, the Danish String Quartet, which gave an outstanding concert this month to launch the winter series for Leamington Music.

The group will play quartets by Haydn and Beethoven written around 1799 in Vienna at the height of the Classical period and then in the second half, George Enescu’s Quartet No 2, completed only four years before his death in 1955.

A Leamington Music Prize Winners Concert will take place at the Kingsley School on November 5 and this will be followed by I Flautisti at the Spa Centre on Saturday November 9.

Five soloists from English Touring Opera will perform Handel’s Music for Vespers at St Mary’s church in Warwick on Tuesday November 12.

The Benyounes String Quartet will make their Leamington debut on Friday November 29.
