Leamington theatre’s spring programme has entertainment for all

SPRING is here and the Spa Centre in Leamington is promising its most exciting and varied programme to date to take audiences through to the summer.

On top of a strong line-up of well-known comedians - including Jethro on April 27 and sports personality Jimmy Greaves on May 17, the new season’s programme includes live music, plays from the West End and family shows.

The venue will play host to All The Single Ladies on Thursday next, a comedy show starring Lesley Ash, Brooke Kinsella and Tara Flynn.

Families can enter the magical world of Rumplestiltksin on April 14 and see The Muppets on the big screen in the Spa Centre Studio.

The comedy continues with Men Are From Mars and Women Are From Venus on April 18, while a rather unusual production that involves singing about vegetables, Can You Dig It? will take the stage on April 20.

Pluck, a string trio who don’t take themselves so seriously, will return on April 13, with their musical tribute to the sinking of the Titanic and the musicians who played on until the end.

Not to forget the popular Barnstormers comedy nights, which are contuining to sell out, and this season will feature three UK comedians and a compere at each show.

Other highlights include a range of live music performances by acts including Bootleg Sixties, That’ll be the Day, The Searchers and Rumours of Fleetwood Mac.

The studio will continue to screen arthouse and mainstream films, as well as drama by students at Teatro Theatre School, who will showcase their talents in their first production, Curiouser, on April 14 and 15, which focuses on a group of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who get together to create something vastly unfamiliar.

The Spa Centre’s publicity officer Jo Lewis said: “We’d like to think that among this range there should be at least a couple of shows to tempt people and hope that they will continue to support us over the coming season.”

A copy of the venue’s new brochure is being posted to homes across Warwick district, but in the meantime, people can see a full programme online and keep up-to-date on what’s on at the Spa Centre’s Facebook page or by following it on Twitter.
