Licentious London comes to Kenilworth

THE licentious London of 1735 will burst onto the stage at Kenilworth’s Priory Theatre next month.

Lock Up Your Daughters, by Bernard Miles in arrangement with Samuel French Ltd, is being staged by the company from Monday March 11 to Saturday March 23.

Colourful characters are embroiled in hilarious situations to a backdrop of catchy tunes - with lyrics by Laurie Johnson and Lionel Bart - in the show, which is set in the 18th century and full of period costumes, wigs and minuets.

Director Mark Jefferies describes the play as “like a Carry On film meeting a Gilbert & Sullivan musical”.

He added: “This production has given the Priory Theatre a number of challenges in terms of staging the show, lighting and set, but it promises to be a superb night out at the theatre.”
