THE face we all recognise as the Oxo Mum is coming to Warwick.

Lynda Bellingham, also well known for her roles in Loose Women and Calender Girls and her appearances in Strictly Come Dancing, will talk about her new book, Lost and Found, as part of the Warwick Words Festival’s programme of Xtra events.

Having turned her attentions to writing, her new book is a tale of heartache, determination and love.

The event, which takes place at the Guy Nelson Hall in Myton Road on Saturday June 4, is being organised by the Warwick Words Festival committee and Warwick Books shop in Market Square. Tickets, which cost £10 (£8 concessions) are now available. Call 776438, visit Warwick Books or Kenilworth Books in Talisman Square, Kenilworth, or go onlne.

Meanwhile amateur writers have risen to the challenge to see their work printed in the festival’s first dedicated book, Warwick Words.

Made up of short stories, non-fiction and poems written by adults and children from Leamington, Warwick and surrounding areas, the compilation marks the event’s tenth year and will be launched at the start of the festival in October.

Committee member Andrew Maiden said: “We’re delighted with the fantastic response to our competition and with the quality of the entries. I’d like to thank everyone for taking part and their work will be carefully read. There’s a lot of talent in the area and the judges are going to find it really hard to choose the winners.”

Warwick Words will be available to buy during the event, which runs from October 1 to 10, and at Warwick Books in Market Square, Warwick.
