Napton Festival is loaded with top-rate acts

The seventh Napton Festival, taking place this Friday and Saturday, will feature 14 live bands headlined by multi-million selling Britpop act Toploader and Guns ‘n’ Roses tribute band Guns2Roses.

Also included in the line-up are the Total Stone Roses, Coventry bands The Fallows and the sessions and Rugby-based punk rockers The Jellyheads.

Gordon Clarke, festival trustee and organiser, said: “Ticket sales are well ahead on last year and the acts are all in place.

“We’ve got an improved line-up, more trade stalls and a bigger stage coming this year and more music all round but still at a really reasonable price.”

Toploader will play on the Saturday night of the two-day event at which visitors can camp.

New for this year will be the reggaesoundsystem - a separate marquee playing reggae and ska throughout the weekend to keep everyone in the festival mood.

Slaughterhouse Ales and a special Napton Festival Ale will be available on tap at the beer tent.

The team of ten volunteers who organise the event are expecting about 1,500 people to attend.

Gordon said: “What sets this festival apart from others is it is great value for money.

“It has a great mix of music, it’s local and it’s set in a really nice part of Warwickshire.

“It is small, well-run and quality.”
