Paxman in Warwickshire literary festival line-up

JEREMY Paxman, Iain Banks and Carol Ann Duffy are among speakers included in the line-up of this year’s Stratford Literary Festival.

BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Ben Anderson, Lindsey Hilsum, international editor of Channel 4 News, cook and novelist Prue Leith, Chinese writers Mo Yan and Lu Jiande and Woman’s Hour presenter Dame Jenni Murray are also among the headlining acts.

People will also have the chance to see Carol Ann Duffy’s predecessor, former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion, and the acclaimed poet Simon Armitage, while there will be drama by the Oddsocks Theatre Company.

Also included during the 2012 festival, which runs from April 22 to May 7, will be a recording of the BBC Radio 4 comedy show, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, at Warwick Arts Centre. Budding poets will be invited to enter a poetry competition and a schools programme will include community work and projects and a ‘family fun day’ with craft-making workshops, entertainers and author events.
