Peter Pan returns to Kenilworth to complete show

Kenilworth’s Talisman Theatre is tomorrow (Saturday) hosting a second attempt of a Peter Pan production that had to be called off due to a power failure.

Last summer, Made in 48 Hours’ version of the fairy tale was cut short, when technical problems at the Kenilworth theatre meant that cast and audience had to evacuate.

Show director and producer Sam Harris said: “It was such a shame. The company were so disappointed that after their weekend of hard work the show had to be stopped, but there was no way we could have carried on.

“Thankfully the situation was handled wonderfully by our company stage manager and theatre staff. The audience were fantastically supportive and understanding and were very sympathetic to the cast, most of whom hadn’t even made it on to the stage.”

Many members of the audience decided to donate their ticket money to the company’s chosen charity, Myton Hospice, so those behind the show have already been able to hand over a cheque for £656.

But the company plan to recreate their long-painted-over set designs, lighting and sound in their trademark 24 hours, beginning at 7.30pm tonight (Friday) before curtain-up tomorrow.

Tickets cost £8, with additional funds made to be donated to Myton Hospices. Call 856548.
