“It’ll be the first time I’ve performed at a racecourse, but I’ve heard that there’s a great atmosphere, so I’m really looking forward to a completely new experience.”

With racecourses being hit by the recession they are having to look at other ways to raise money.

Managing director at the racecourse Huw Williams said: “I am thrilled to confirm the Eliza Doolittle music night.

“This event is the first of its kind for the racecourse. People can come along to enjoy an afternoon of racing, followed by an open air concert with a top British artist.

Gates open at 3.30pm with the first race scheduled for 5.30pm. Six races will then be followed by a performance from Eliza and her live band.

Tickets, which include admission to the racing and music night, are on sale now from £20 and family tickets from £30. For tickets and more information call 08445 793 013 or go online.
