Pub fest rocks village

The Admiral Nelson Music Festival 2015 will be held on Saturday, 8th August from noon to 11pm.

This year’s event follows on from the success of last year’s event at the Braunston pub.

It will be held in the same field after outgrowing the pub car park in 2013.

Last year approximately 3.000 people attended and the organisers are hoping the event will continue to grow even bigger this year.

Sarah Davis, from the pub said: “We are a local, independent family-run business and the festival is a great day out for all ages.

“We were even able to make a donation to our local community last year.”

Entertainment on the day includes outside bars and food stalls, two stages, face painting, inflatables, live music, a magician to mingle and wow the crowd.

There will also be Morris Dancers, professional photography, barley flags, free wifi on site and fireworks to close the event.

Sarah added: “We are very excited that Juice Sound & Light are sponsoring the festival again this year. Last year they supplied us with an incredible stage and lighting system and we cant wait to work with them again.

“We have an incredible line up this year... UK Foo Fighters are our headline act.”

The five-piece band are made up of Jay Apperley, Arron Warner, Alex Bailey, Jamie Valentine and Nick Wight. The alternative band are a tribute to the American band, The Foo Fighters. They will be playing some of the band’s greatest hits.

Other performances on the day will include Paper Street Soap Company, Attention Citizens, Motor City String Band, Antarctic Monkeys, the official international tribute band to The Arctic Monkeys.

There will also be music from a Jimi Hendrix Tribute.

Also back again after appearing at the festival in previous years are Got It Covered and Ted Nilsson, the DJ who will be playing some top tunes.

Northampton-based band, Morning Chorus, are also going to the Braunston pub.

The members are Tom Stilgoe on vocals/guitar, Rob Morgan also on guitar and vocals, Andrew Stephens on bass and vocals and Jonny Absolon on drums. They will be playing pop and rock material.

The amusingly-named Band with No Name, based from Northamptonshire, will play 1950s’ rockabilly covers from Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.

General admission is £7, under 10s free and camping is available at £12 per pitch.
