Review: excellent small-scale art at Leamington gallery

The miniscule size limit of this international open exhibition of 8 x 10cm prints at the Pump Room gallery in Leamington seems not to have been a barrier to the development of subject matter and the use of technical approaches that are often impressively inventive.

The hundred or so selected works are displayed in blocks that are separated by the inclusion of an excellent set of full-size prints from invited artists such as Maggie Hambling and Ana Maria Pacheco.

Extraordinary feats of miniaturisation are carried off with no concessions to the technical demands of the medium and with a variety of subject-matter that is an entertainment in itself.

The exhibition is on until October 6.
