Scriptwriting that cuts to the truth at Leamington theatre
Joanna Murray-Smith’s Honour, showing at the Leamington venue from Wednesday, explores the conflict between head and heart.
After years of putting her own successful career on hold to support her husband George’s career and raise their daughter Sophie, Honor has achieved little for herself.

She encourages you, if not to sympathise, at least to understand why he would fall for Claudia, a beautiful, clever 29-year-old.
Director of the Loft’s production, William Wilkinson, said: “Murray-Smith’s real masterstroke is to tell the old story of the adulterous husband afresh by showing us the shifting balance of power in the three central relationships.
“Finally, Claudia’s supreme self-confidence is dented; George’s brave new life is an illusion; and Honor evolves into a very different woman.

He added: “This is intelligent, powerful writing that cuts to the truth with scalpel sharpness and precision. It is refreshingly stylish, swift and economical.”
Honour is showing from Wednesday until Saturday October 1 at 7.45pm each evening. For tickets, call 0844 493 4938, visit the theatre from Monday or go online.
