See specially chosen work by south Warwickshire arts talents

The talents of artists from Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth, Wellesbourne, Napton and Hampton Magna are being showcased in a varied collection on display at the Herbert gallery in Coventry.

South Warwickshire artists whose work has been selected for the Coventry Arts Consortium include Peter Beale from Hampton Magna, Vaughan Cooper from Warwick, Sheila Fitzgerald from Kenilworth). Jane Powell from Balsall Common, Daphne Powis from Kenilworth, Chris Saunderson from Kenilworth, Maureen Townsend from Leamington, Glenys Tuntall from Kenilworth, Alany Tyers from Napton, sculptor Robert Page from Kenilworth and Liz Street from Wellesbourne (one of her paintings is pictured here).

A panel, made up of one artist each from the Coventry and Warwickshire Society of Artists, the Coventry Watercolour Society, the Art Guild and the Triumph Art Society, have chosen the works - both paintings and sculptures - to be included in the display.

Kenilworth artist Chris Saunderson has been selected by consortium chairman Susan Moore as winner of the exhibition’s Chairman’s Award for his watercolour painting Kiftsgate Tearoom. Other awards were presented following judging last week.
