Poetopia has been set up by a team of young adults to encourage writers aged between 11 and 18 years old to put pen to paper and let their creativity flow.

Inspired by current popular teen utopian and dystopian novels, Young Writers has created a poetry world in Poetopia like no other - “Choose. Comply. Create.”

And you can take part with a challenge to get writing on any subject of interest in hope of winning a place in their next anthology, or even money for your school.

Poetopia offers six themes to inspire pupils with their poetry, from current affairs to standing up for something you believe in.

They said it is “all about offering a new way to encourage and motivate” children to enjoy writing poetry.

Each poem submitted to Poetopia will be read by the Young Writers’ editorial team and considered for a regional anthology.

Published poets will then be in with the chance of being chosen as the best poet in their faction.

There are also five box sets to giveaway plus a £40 book token, cash prizes and bonuses for schools.

Entries close on February 13 and open to all secondary school pupils across the UK.

There is no entry fee, and writers of all levels, ability and experience are invited to have a go and take part.
