Simply brilliant acts to support cancer causes at Leamington festival

Artists familiar to the UK’s festival circuit are joining together to perform live free of charge at a new cancer charity event in Leamington this month.

The Trinity Festival, sponsored by Prog magazine, takes place at the Assembly in Spencer Street on Sunday May 18, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK, Brain Tumour Research and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Headlining on the day will be Arena, Touchstone and The Reasoning - each performing festival length sets - while also performing acoustic sets will be Heather Findlay, Matt Stevens and Alan Reed, with an additional special set by Rob Reed of Magenta, Kompendium and Chimpan A, and a performance by Lost In Vegas.

All proceeds from bar sales will be donated to the three charities, while on the night there will also be a special auction, with items available from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, The Darkness, Marillion, Roger Dean, Rush and Pendragon.

Festival spokeswoman Jill Lerner said: “Things are really taking shape nicely and we can announce that all acts on the bill have very kindly agreed to wave their usual fee so that all monies made go straight to the chosen charities.

“Many of you will know that the acts on board are simply brilliant and entertaining.”
