Singers mark 30 years with J.S Bach’s finest

Under founding director, Julian Harris, the group will perform its firm favourite, Bach’s Mass in B Minor as part of ongoing celebrations to mark three decades of music.

Tenor Ed Harrisson will rejoin the Singers for the concert, joined by Helen Neeves (soprano), Alexandra Gibson and James Gower (bass).

Accompanying it all, the Saint James’s Players will play authentic instruments for the performance which will be at authentic pitch for the piece.

The choir will also be joined by the young voices of the graduates of the Junior Saint James’s Singers through the evening in the joint celebrations.

Julian, who has conducted the group after founding it 30 years ago, said: “I am so proud to lead this choir. They excel at interpreting baroque music, but have proved themselves able to master a wide range of styles and always rise to the challenge presented by different eras.

“We have a 30-year track record of thrilling performances and joyous music making and we are all looking forward immensely to performing the Bach again. There can be no better way to mark this significant anniversary.”
