Spectacular line up for the Warwick Castle Proms

In the year that Warwick celebrates its 1,100th anniversary and the nation marks 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War, the town’s famous castle is gearing up for its best ever Summer Proms concert this summer.

Tickets are now available for this year’s event, which takes place in the grounds of Warwick Castle on Saturday July 12 - and organisers are promising a “spectacular” evening of “superb” music, “incredible” fireworks and a “dramatic” Spitfire flyover.

Performing will be the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Jae Alexander, known for his exhuberance. Tenor John Hudson will make his debut performance with popular Neapolitan Songs and opera classics including the widely-loved Nessun Dorma. And soprano Janet Mooney will return to Warwick to perform popular arias and proms favourites for the flag-waving finale.

“We have some spectacular entertainment lined up and we’re looking forward to announcing some further special features and guests very soon.

“It’s the combination of wonderful music, amazing performers, the dramatic Spitfire flyover and stunning fireworks finale that make this evening the highlight of Warwick Castle’s events.”

Tickets cost £32 (£10 children). No seating or shelter is provided so people are advised to bring chairs or blankets to sit on and encouraged to bring picnics. Refreshments will also be available to buy. The concert starts at 7.30pm, with a pre-concert performance at 6.45pm. To book, call 0844 871 8819 or visit www.warwickconcerts.com
