We’ve Only Just Begun is a celebration of The Carpenters and the music and spirit of Karen Carpenter.

It comes to the Royal and Derngate on Saturday May 9

The Carpenters scored an unprecedented 17 consecutive billboard US top ten hits. The timeless quality of the Carpenters’ music makes it as relevant today as when they had their first UK hit with Close To You in 1970.

Karen Carpenter had a unique voice that has proven almost impossible to duplicate – its deep smokyemotional edge creating that iconic sound that is so hard to perfect. Now 30 years later, Karen Carpenter lives again through the vocalist Toni Lee, pictured, in the new show.

Accompanied by an impressive audiovisual presentation, the show features all of the Carpenters’ greatest songs and chart hits, performed by Toni Lee with her big band and singers.
