Take a visual journey at Leamington gallery

A PASSIONATE photographer is running his first solo exhibition at Gallery 150 in Leamington.

Escape prevents a collection of works in which Alan Ranger takes the viewer on an evocative journey across land and sea.

Formerly a poet, Alan likes to capture objects, people and landscapes that reflect what he sees as the beauty of light, shade and texture.

In 2008, after attending a workshop with John Gravett of Lakeland Photographic Holidays, Alan transformed his hobby into a vocation, exhibiting at shows with the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique and British Photographic Exhibitions, winning numerous awards for his landscapes.

Alan, who works as an IT manager, also runs photography meet-ups and provides tuition and master classes to beginners and those looking to pursue their interest in photographic art.

His images are often inspired by his love of music, but he also likes to view everyday scenes and objects from a more unusual perspective.

Escape is on at Gallery 150 in the Regent Court shopping arcade until Sunday. Entry is free.
