Taking a chance

Napton Festival will be running in the village on Friday July 10 and Saturday July 11. in the grounds of the village hall.

The weekend festival consists of 7 bands playing Friday evening from 5pm to 11pm and 11 bands playing on Saturday from noon until 11pm

New for 2015 is a change in approach to the Saturday headline band from rock to a very colourful and high energy Abba tribute band from London - ABBA Chique.

A spokesman for the festival said: “We think the change will be great for the festival and give it a more wide appeal to end the Saturday.”

Coventry acts Yes Sunshine, The Session, Kristy Gallacher along with Warwickshire based Jessica Rhodes, The Occasional Orchestra and Nina Baker will be appearing.

There will also be a performance by a Daventry band called Just Adam at the festival.

The band will be playing many original tracks and cover 70s through to noughties classic rock that is sure to keep the party going!

Firm Napton favourites The Jellyheads will liven up the night on Friday with some punk classics.

The band are on a five man crusade to keep the seminal spirit of punk rock alive.

The spokesman added: “For those of you who were there at the time and those of you who are too young to remember, The Jellyheads play just about every classic hit from the early punk era, songs from the Pistols and The Stranglers to the Clash and Boom Town Rats.

“Charged with energy the boys will have you pogo-ing like it’s 1977.

“The band has supported the festival from the early days and it will be good to see them again.

“Bands will be playing from a spectacular outdoor stage with first class sound quality and festival goers can enjoy the superb range of drinks we serve from the ever popular drinks marquee.”

The past few years have been hugely successful and the charity has set up a local grant scheme to help schools and young musicians with funding.

Weekend camping is available and is available on both nights of the festival

People are being advised to book their tickets early as there is a limited number of people allowed to attend the festival.

Tickets prices are £18 for adults, £10 for under 18s, and under 12s have free entry.

All under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Camping is £7 per night per person and includes security personnel present each night at the campsite.
