Tennis club is on the television

CHILDREN’S BBC presenters have tried their hand at the ‘sport of kings’ in Leamington.

Leamington Tennis Court Club welcomed presenters Iain Stirling and Ed Petrie who were filming for the show All Over the Place, a programme which explores weird and wonderful things up and down the UK.

They got tips on how to play real tennis from the club’s head professional Kevin Sheldon.

Founded in 1846 the club, in Bedford Street, was opened at a time when other sports such as cricket, football and rugby were either in their infancy or had not been invented.

During filming the BBC crew also visited other historical sites including Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.
