The Leamington Arts and Music Project (LAMP) has gained an increasingly strong reputation among musicians, comedians, visual artists and filmmakers since it began on March 1 last year.

With some big names having performed there and several events in the Leamington Comedy and Leamington Underground Cinema Festivals taken place at the venue off Adelaide Road, the small team of four working artists who run the project are proud of their success and keen to share it with others.

And so they have organised nine days of events - with birthday cake promised each day - to celebrate their first year, starting from tomorrow (Saturday), including live music, cinema, comedy, poetry and a DJ night.

Programme manager Philip Burley said: “We have an incredibly broad programme - and we’re introducing theatre later in the year. Because we are an independent organisation, we have had a really good community response.

People have felt like they wanted to get involved in the project rather than just turn up to see something. The past year has just been mad.”
