The People choose their winner in Leamington competition

VISITORS to a Leamington gallery have selected their favourite artwork of its summer exhibition.

Overall winner in the Leamington Studio Artists’ summer show, which was held at Gallery 150, Christina Callaghan was presented with a £500 prize and a feature in the LSA’s Artspace magazine for her painting of a stag.

In second place was Sonia Bubliatis, while celebrity painter Paul Oz came in third.

They were closely followed by Paul Cheshire, whose work was recently featured in the BBC series, Show Me The Monet, and who has also been selected for the Coventry Open 2012, at the Herbert art gallery in Coventry, and Pam Smallshaw.

Visitor to the gallery, Angela Kandil, whose voting slip was drawn out of the hat, took home the limited edition print, Not the Usual Suspects, by James Callaghan.

This year’s LSA summer show featured more than 100 works by 68 local and regional artists and attracted more than 2,000 visitors.
