Grumpy Old Women live show comes to Leamington

The joys of large pants, beard styles for women and how to customise an unwanted pole dancing kit are among the topics on the agenda for the Grumpy Old Women, who are bringing their latest live show to Leamington next week.

Comedian, writer and original star of the television show Jenny Eclair - who also co-writes the stage shows - is joined by Susie Blake and Kate Robbins in a two-hour ‘no-nonsense’ comedy which has been enjoying success for ten years because, says Jenny, it is “real life”.

Speaking to the Courier this week, the Perrier Award-winning comedian said: “It’s an odd hybrid between sketch, monologue and interaction and the shows are all quite physical.

“We do get a few men in the audience and they are most welcome. They usually come along to accompany their partners, but they end up really laughing because they are seeing their own lives. It’s very gratifying to see them enjoy it so much.

“It’s real life. It’s an odd little misfit but it’s filling a gap. People don’t really get it until they see it.”

Grumpy Old Women: Fifty Shades of Beige is on at the Spa Centre on Thursday June 5 at 7.30pm. Tickets £20.50. Call 334418 or visit www.royalspacentreandtownhall.co.uk
