Tennessee Williams classic comes to Kenilworth stage
The Glass Menagerie, which premiered in 1944 and is known to many through films based on the play featuring Kirk Douglas and John Malkovich, will take the stage from Monday (May 19) to Saturday May 24.
One of the most performed Broadway plays of all time, the play tells the story, through the memory of her son, of a Southern Belle who yearns for the comforts of her earlier life.

Hide AdTalisman director John Dawson said: “I took a lot of pleasure out of bringing to the stage such a work of tenderness and passion; it is the poetry that leaves me gasping. It was this play that opened my eyes to the genius of Tennessee Williams and it is so much more moving because it is so closely biographical.”
Director of productions Christine Carpenter added: “This is a wonderful, lyrical play. I am so glad that we have both the actors and especially a director who can treat this fine writing with the respect it deserves.”
Performances are at 7.30pm each evening. For tickets (£7 to £8.50), call 856548 or book online at www.talismantheatre.co.uk
