West End theatre part of packed programme at Coventry’s Belgrade

Famous faces, family favourites and West End hits will entertain audiences at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry this year.

Opening the season in the B2 auditorium in February is the Belgrade’s production of Ben Jonson’s classic comedy The Alchemist. Co-produced by Riding Lights Theatre Company, it tells the story of a group of con-artists who find their deceptions spiralling out of control. The Belgrade is also producing three classic plays: A Lady of Little Sense, Don Gil of the Green Breeches and Punishment Without Revenge, which will run in March and April.

Opening the season on the theatre’s main stage is the legendary musical Blood Brothers, which returns for a two-week run from January 22, starring Maureen Nolan. In February, all-male Shakespeare company Propeller return to the Belgrade with The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Also returning is Horrible Histories, while TV and stage star Les Dennis stars in The Perfect Murder by crime thriller novelist Peter James.
