Upbeat Nell is playing in Leamington
Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin were the inspiration for American singer Nell Bryden to follow a career in folk and rock.
The New York-born artist, who is playing at the Zephyr Lounge in Leamington on September 19, was classically trained and looking forward to becoming an opera singer - but she says listening to these two stars are what changed her path.
Having recently released her third album Wayfarer, Nell is touring the UK. Speaking about the album, Nell said: “There’s a different sense emotionally to where I’ve been in the past. Before, there was a lot of heartbreak, cry-in-your-beer stuff that needed pedal steel all over the place. I don’t feel like that now.”
