West End actors at Warwick concert
Royal Shakespeare Company and West End actors John Woodvine and Lynn Farleigh are reading at this year’s popular St James’s Singers’ Christmas concert in Warwick tonight (Saturday December 21).
John and Lynn last appeared as ‘understudies’ for Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer three years ago when snow prevented the scheduled artists from appearing.
As is now a Christmas tradition, the choir will be joined by the Junior Saint James’s Singers, while readings range from the metaphysical poet John Donne, to the new poem Annunciation by Robin Robertson. There will also be carols for the audience to sing along to - and, says the group, a few surprises.
The concert takes place at St Mary’s church at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 in advance or £10 on the door (£5 for children). Call 07733 750107.
