Auctioneers Warwick and Warwick are holding a valuation day at its office in Scar Bank, Millers Road, Warwick from 9am to 2pm to meet the public and accept material for valuation and sale. The firm specialises in collectable areas, stamps, coins, banknotes, postcards, cigarette cards, models, toys, model railways and medals. Postcard collections and military medals are particularly welcome, as are coin collections. Kenilworth Castle, 11am to 5pm: Over the weekend Kenilworth will be transported back in time to 1173 as widespread rebellion threatens the monarchy. Three re-enactment groups – Historia Normannis, The Household, and Conroi - will come together to bring a siege to life from both sides of the ramparts. Expect full on action in a series of assaults on the castle – with trebuchets, archery, and massed ranks of rebelling troupes. With authentic outfits, weapons, encampment and entertainments, the 12th century will be brought to life. Tickets are £11.70 for adults and £7.10 for children. Visit www.english-heritage.org.uk

Tudor Storytelling at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Shottery. 10am to 4.30pm:

Join the Yarnsmith of Norwich on a very special story trail around the beautiful grounds of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Activities are included in normal admission.

Crafty Beasts at Mary Arden’s Farm, Wilmcote, 10am to 5pm: Join a celebration of rare breed animals and the skills of Tudor rural workers. See traditional craft demonstrations and join in with animal-themed activities, including ferret roulette, falconry and sheep walking. Browse the craft market with stalls selling locally produced handmade products. You can also have a go at making your very own hobby horse, and enter it in the gymkhana for a chance to win prizes. Enjoy a special performance of ‘The Very Helpful Goat’ by Castle Small Puppet Theatre. Activities are included in normal admission.

Kasbah, Coventry: Dance-pop favourites The Vengaboys perform with support from Big Brovaz and Blazin’ Squad. Tickets cost £6 in advance and £8 on the door.

Chesterton church: Tea and cake served between 2pm and 4pm. Explore this historic 11th-century church and enjoy locally made cakes, and tea.

All profits will go towards maintenance and renovation of the church.

Warwick Rocks Food and Film Festival: The action on the Sunday gets underway at midday with the build-up to a screening of the Pixar family favourite Toy Story, which will be followed at 3pm by Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur adventure Jurassic Park.

The festival will end with a screening of the first Indiana Jones film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, from 6pm. See page 54 for details.

Warwick Real Beer Tour: the tour is set to start at midday in aid of Myton Hospice and will see a selection of specially chosen ales, talks from a local brewing expert and competitions held in each pub. There will be stops at local haunts The Old Post Office, The Tilted Wig, The Oak and The Wild Boar, with a secret pub yet to be revealed. Food will be provided by award-winning fish and chip shop Pot and Fin.
