Bobby takes steps to happier and healthier life thanks to inclusive new Dunchurch business

Rugby Mayor Simon Ward visited a new business that helps people with special needs and disabilities last week.

Cllr Simon Ward met fitness instructor and personal trainer Glenique Frank at her refurbished studio in Dunchurch.

Open to all, PT on The Yard can help session-goers with everything from nutrition tips to fitness programmes and massage.

"It’s always nice to see new businesses in the borough and I think it’s fantastic what Glenique offers for the community,” Cllr Ward said.

“As a fitness instructor and personal trainer Glenique welcomes people with autism, amputees, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, anxiety, low self-esteem and MS.

“I also had the pleasure of meeting Bobby, who has Down Syndrome, whilst I was there. He was attending one of his twice a week sessions with Glenique and is a real character.

“I was really impressed with how Glenique engaged with Bobby and supported him throughout his session and couldn’t believe how effortlessly Bobby made his workout look by taking it all in his stride. Everything was tailored to his needs and to ensure he got the best out of his session.

Glenique said she doesn’t see disability.

"I only see unique ability and my goal is to embrace hate and educate,” she added.
