Designed for smaller moves, this new self-drive service has been introduced for customers who want to move their own possessions in an ‘easy to drive’ vehicle, that is purpose equipped for removals.

Britannia Squab’s van rental is an affordable, practical solution for customers who are getting on to the property ladder for the first time and have fewer items to move.

The van, which is very much like a car to drive, has a Luton sized body without the hassle of a tail lift. It is low to the ground which allows users to step directly on and off the back with ease, or alternatively they can use the ramp provided. The vehicle also includes tie rails to secure the load, and Britannia Squab can provide blankets to protect possessions. Sack trucks can also be supplied.

Emlyn Evans, managing partner of the Britannia Squab Group, said: “The vehicle fills a gap in the small domestic removals market. There are plenty of vans available for hire but few suppliers can provide a suitable sized vehicle for the specific purpose of removals. Our vehicle has been specially equipped for removals to help safeguard our customers’ possessions.”

Self-drive van hire is available now and an online booking service is to be launched very soon at www.squab.co.uk.
