Clarification on Raindrop treatment for vision

In last week’s Courier/Weekly News we published an article on a new eye procedure - Raindrop- being offered by Space Healthcare in Leamington.

Unfortunately some of the information in that article was incorrect and we have been asked to clarify some of the facts.

The Raindrop is implanted into one eye of suitable patients to fix short sighted problems. The distance vision in this eye is slightly reduced to improve the near vision.

Overall distance vision with both eyes working together may be improved by laser treatment of the other eye.

These benefits last many years, however they are not a permanent fix as other ageing changes can occur which reduce the benefits.

We are happy to correct this and apologise for any confusion or inconvenience it may have caused.

For more information on the Raindrop procedure contact Space Healthcare on 01926 282282 or visit the centre at Clarendon Avenue, Leamington, Warwickshire CV32 5PP.
