Click staff up to a new class and save money

FIRMS can take their employees to higher levels while saving money, thanks to an innovative new tool developed by a Leamington company.

LightMedia Communications, which is based in Kenilworth Street, has launched the e-learning authoring tool ClickClass, to help provide organisations with a clear and simple way of building their own online training modules.

The device allows companies to tailor their own training programmes for employees and helps individuals with no technical knowledge or skills to write, distribute and manage high quality collaborative online learning content.

It can be set up in minutes and companies will pay nothing until there are more than two active users.

LightMedia managing director Tony Probert said: “Our research has suggested that training budgets are generally decreasing in the current economic climate but a larger proportion of that spend is going on e-learning.

“A learning and development survey last year revealed 85 per cent of respondents were using e-learning with 62 per cent saying they had increased their e-learning usage from 2009.

“ClickClass uses an e-learning 2.0 approach and is designed to address the shortfall found in many of today’s e-learning products. It is based on a desire to simplify the authoring process, empower the participant and increase user contribution, choice and recognition.”

The tool allows the user to build a completely branded site with which employees will feel familiar and comfortable. There is no minimum contract period and users can close their account at any stage, making ClickClass ideal for short term training needs or projects.

Mr Probert said: “ClickClass allows participants to become much more involved in the whole learning process by allowing them to explore the learning content and contribute to it where relevant.

“This creates accelerated learning because users are able to engage with the content at a level not normally possible with traditional e-learning applications.”

LightMedia Communications Ltd is a consultancy and web development house which aims to help organisations get the best from the internet.
