Family builders land big contract

A FATHER and son team were celebrating recently after picking up an important new building project.

Well-known sandwich chain Subway recently moved in to a new unit at the Leamington Shopping Park, and represents a new look for the franchise following a design put forward by Warwick Builders.

Developers, Warwick Builders and Shopfitters, is a local company run by father and son team Tim and Tom Satinet with site manager James O’Malley.

They came up with a design for the store that included a stylish mezzanine and, working with Subway, included features such as two full height slate feature walls, modern lighting rafts and exposed ceiling details.

The new store represents a completely new look for Subway which, they hope will feel much more relaxed and comfortable for the customer.

Mr Satinet said: “This development represents an important project for our business.

“I think modern design combined with efficient delivery is what any contractor wants to demonstrate, especially somewhere like the retail park, which is something of a shop window for your work.”

They aren’t the only family members working together to bring the shop to the retail park.

This latest Subway is the result of almost five years of work by the shop’s franchisees Rav Sandhu and Juj Dosanjh.

The brother-in-laws run the existing two Subway stores in Warwick and have had their eyes focused on a development in the retail park even before they opened their first store in May 2006.

“Ourselves, Juj and Rav and Subway are all delighted with the outcome of the project,” added Mr Satinet.

The retail park, which has Sainsbury’s at its heart, has been under redevelopment for some time and is now one of the main centres for commerce in the district.
