The new purpose-designed premises in Ufton enjoyed a strong and steady flow of potential customers keen for a first-hand look at the results of the company’s substantial investment in bringing high levels of service to one of the UK’s great farming areas.

The large workshop area within the spacious 14,000 square feet premises was cleared to make way for a reception, with trade stands to add interest. All the major franchises represented by the company’s agricultural department supported a large outdoor display of machinery.

It was an especially significant event for guests from AGCO given that the new depot is within a few miles of its headquarters and on the very spot where Massey Ferguson’s first TE20 tractors were trialled some 66 years ago.

AGCO director sales UK & Ireland David Sleath, was particularly enthusiastic about the new venture.

He said: “It’s a really tremendous depot. I hope you are proud of it because I know that we are. This fits in with our overall strategy for distribution in the UK and how we see our business moving forward. We are looking for dealers who have a lot of strength in depth, and that’s how we view Lister Wilder.

“We like the commitment which the company has shown in terms of financial strength and investment and I hope that commitment will be rewarded by the local farming community in Warwickshire in terms of support for this depot because it thoroughly deserves it.”
